Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to work at a company that is changing the world? Ceragen is looking for a passionate scientist to join our team as our new lab manager.

Ceragen is a startup company revolutionizing agriculture through microbiome engineering. We are developing a suite of plant growth promoting microbial inoculants to help farmers increase their crop yields. Our products are designed for use in controlled environment agriculture (CEA), specifically vegetable production.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Help develop and execute Ceragen’s research and development strategy including designing and conducting experiments
  • Manage day to day lab operations including inventory management and preparing reagents
  • Supervise and manage co-ops including conducting all onboarding, training, and routine check ins
  • Manage all laboratory related paperwork including updating SDSs and protocols
  • Optimize workflows to increase efficiency and accelerate R&D timelines
  • Conduct activities relating to commercial production of our microbial inoculants
  • Assist with activities relating to regulatory and patent development



Application Instructions

Required Qualifications

  • M.Sc. Microbiology or equivalent degree
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • Self motivated and willing to step outside of your comfort zone to tackle new challenges
  • Excited for the opportunity to work at an early stage company
  • Experience with basic microbiology techniques including media preparation and microbial culturing

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience isolating microbes from environmental samples
  • Experience conducting plant based experimental trials
  • Bioinformatics experience
  • Python, R
  • Experience managing a team
