CSM Newsletter - December 2010
Dear Fellow Microbiologists,
Here is a brief update on some items we’ve been working on this fall.
The CSM website is constantly being upgraded. Check in periodically for the latest announcements and developments. http://www.csm-scm.org/
The 2011 Conference will be held in St-John’s Newfoundland June 20-23rd. The Local Organizing Committee under the leadership of Andrew Lang is hard at work putting together a strong program http://www.mun.ca/csm2011/index.html. Mark your calendars for what is sure to be a scientifically stimulating and memorable trip to one of Canada’s most interesting regions, and check the Conference website periodically for updates.
You will be receiving an email reminder in early January regarding renewal of your CSM membership for 2011. Please remind your students and colleagues of the benefits of joining the CSM.
The CSM Executive are in the process of updating the CSM bylaws. Proposed changes will be mailed early in the New Year for validation by membership vote.
This spring we will be looking for Members to serve the Society in a number of capacities. Please consider taking an active role in the CSM if you have not done so.
As another hopefully productive and inspiring year draws to a close, on behalf of the CSM Executive I wish you and your family Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and all the best in the New Year.
