Young Research Investigator Symposium Announcement
For the first time, the CSM will be holding a symposium for young research investigators (postdoctoral research fellows, research associates and newly-appointed faculty members) providing a unique opportunity to showcase their research to the conference attendees. The symposium will feature five 30-minute time slots each comprising a 20-25 minute presentation and the remaining 5-10 minutes for questions. Presenters will be selected from submitted abstracts and invited to present their research investigations by the CSM Education Committee.
The eligibility criteria is as follows: the individual must be in their second year or beyond in their post-doctoral research venue, or in their first year of academic appointment; and the research presented must be from post-doctoral research investigations only and should not include doctoral research results. The invitation extended to the selected presenter includes the presentation opportunity only. Travel-associated costs will not be covered by the CSM. Interested individuals should submit a 300 word abstract based on their post-doctoral research. Inquiries regarding participation in the symposium should be directed to the Education committee. Abstracts will be accepted until the abstract deadline date. Please refer to the abstract submission page. Individuals interested in participating in the post-doc symposium should submit their abstract online for the poster session and email their abstract directly to Ann Karen Brassinga (brassing@cc.umanitoba.ca) . The subject line of the email should include the following "Post Doc Symposium Abstract - Presenter's name".
