CSM President Letter - April 2021
I hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. I am writing to provide you some Society updates.
As you know our conference this year is being held virtually June 14th to the 17th, with sessions running from 12:30 to 16:00 (EDT) each day. The Conference Organizing Committee has been working very hard to finalize an exciting scientific program with the focus on students, post-doctoral fellows, and early career researchers. In addition, the Forum On Microbiology Education (FOME) will be held on June 10th. I encourage you all to attend! We are delighted to Welcome Dr. Kari Dunfield (University of Guelph) to the CSM Executive as the new 2nd Vice President. I would also take this opportunity to thank our outgoing post-doctoral representative, Dr. Stephanie Jones. If you are a Post-Doctoral Fellow, please click on the nomination form link to download the application and consider getting involved.
We have also initiated a new series called ‘ Meet the Microbiologist’ on the CSM YouTube channel. I invite you to visit the CSM YouTube channel to learn about new initiatives of the Society.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has already renewed their memberships. If you have not had a chance yet, you may want to take advantage of the two-year renewal option. Forms for the membership renewal or new membership application can be accessed here.
