My research project focuses on the computationally identification of microbial drug targets and prediction of existing drugs with repurposing potential as anti-infectives, which aim to target virulence instead of essential microbial functions, to reduce the selection pressure for resistance. The prediction includes the identification of primarily non-mobile (not on genomic islands), cell-surface or secreted proteins associated exclusively with pathogens.
