The research in our laboratory focuses on the process of biofilm formation by the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. My work examines how environmental factors, host determinants, and strain-related differences impact this fundamental process, which contributes to bacterial pathogenesis, persistence, and antimicrobial resistance. I use a multidisciplinary approach that combines molecular microbiology, cell culture, microscopy, and proteomics.
